We set out for Marigot Bay, St Lucia but it was rough with swell making its way into the bay so we continued on to Vieux Fort where we spent the night before our 6AM departure for Bequia. Had planned to leave earlier but light winds (8 - 10 knots) were forecast thru Monday with better winds forecast for today. Weather people blew the forecast today - forecast was for 13-15 knots - we had a steady 21knots gusting to 30. Wave height and direction were also wrong.
Had intended to go down the East side of St Vincent but the wind and wave direction along with the 1.5kt westerly current was not good so we diverted back to our East side passage. Trip down was fine, arriving Bequia in a heavy squall so the boat got a free wash. We were anchored by 3:30 and since I had done on inbound clearance using eSeaClear was able to zip in and out of customs and was back on the boat before 4pm.
