I was all hyped on trying the burger here yesterday - was disappointed - greasy meat, undercooked, but at least it was not loaded with fillers and garlic powder. Will stick with homemade, using at least 88% lean ground chuck..... Not sure what we had but uck! Bun was great, toppings were to, meat didn't make it! Burgers in Paradise - NOT!
Dinner was great, we did brisket with a side of baby back ribs with a chipotle sauce, very good.
More haulout prep today and a trip in to Spicelands Mall for pre provisioning. Cleaned the shower pan discharge, treated the shower curtain, prepped the Outboard, removed outboard fuel filter, cleaned and stowed tie down straps and polished some stainless. Water maker is put to bed for the season.
Tomorrow Lesley is making homemade dinner rolls and pressure cooker pot roast.
Things are coming together for our haulout

Brisket AND ribs!!!?? Awesome.
ReplyDeleteAh that elusive cheeseburger in paradise.
ReplyDeleteSo many times I've dreamed of one. A few years back while in France... last year crossing the Atlantic.
Each time the reality did not come close to the dream. You think it would be easy. We're not talking Chateaubriand for crying out loud. But nope. Not gonna get a good one off shore unless you watch the cow get killed, cut, and ground.
But don't worry man... there's a big juicy one waiting somewhere in Fla with your name on it.... that is - if I don't get to it first.
Greg:
ReplyDeleteI'm in heaven - burgers last night were SUPERB. The last of our ground chuck from the US.
Tonight - Lesley's Chili Pork Stew and homemade cornbread and the last of our French butter! Can you believe it - there is currently a butter shortage in Grenada!
